The Samurai Poet Debuts Tomorrow

I thought this day would come sooner, but now that it is near, I have no regrets. My first novel, The Samurai Poet, is being released tomorrow in ebook format in more than 51 countries. Told from the point of view of Ishikawa Jozan, a samurai and literati who lived in Japan from 1583-1672, the novel is a culmination of extensive research, travel, writing, and revision that started at the beginning of the century.

Published by the indie Suzuhara Press and distributed by Smashwords, the novel faces the same problem of credibility that all indie novels initially face. My pledge to you is that the novel is well written and that it has been thoroughly edited. While I can't guarantee that there will not be a single typo (these days even first editions from major publishers seem to have their share of those), I promise that the novel reads like a professionally vetted publication.

Take pledges and promises for what they are worth. Before buying your copy of the novel, I strongly encourage you to download the free sample available at most ebooksellers to check my claim before spending your hard earned money and even more valuable time. While I think the entire novel needs to be read to judge it fairly, if the first fifteen percent simply doesn't work for you, I'll understand.

I will close with a list of links to ebooksellers who have the book listed as of October 10, 2013. If you buy the novel before 10:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on October 14, you will still be able to obtain it for the special pre-order price of $2.99 USD (prices will vary internationally due to exchange rates and Apple's rounding policy). After 10:00, an order to raise the price to a still reasonable $3.99 USD will be entered into the system. From what I understand, the change will take 1-5 days to work through to all outlets, so the safest time to buy is this weekend.

Apple iBookstore (Redirects to your current country)
Barnes & Noble
Kobo
Kobo Japan (Rakuten)
Smashwords (Smashwords sells editions that work on every major eReader, including the Kindle.)

Thank you for your support. I truly hope you enjoy the novel.
