How to get lost in Kyoto | The Japan Times Online
The article starts with "A young couple from Norway were talking about their travels in Japan. 'We weren't that impressed with Kyoto,' they said. 'It was too hard to get around.'"
Really? Are we talking about the same Kyoto with the rare-for-Japan streets laid out on a grid? The Kyoto with numerous train lines, complete bus coverage, and a modern subway system? Surely we're not complaining about the easiest city in Japan to get around?
Here's a link to the Kyoto transit map [link broken, see below] if you want to be better prepared than the writer of the article next time you're in Kyoto. Then again, making light of knowing nothing about navigating Kyoto seems to pay better than knowing something, so think twice before accepting any help.

The link to the map isn't working right now, and the City of Kyoto travel site doesn't seem to have an updated link yet. E-mail me if you would like me to send you the attachment.
